Classic "Typical Boro" moment at Roker Park on Easter Monday 1992...Boro reject Peter Davenport - sold to the Mackems in the Summer of 1990 after a less than distinguished season and a half on Teesside pops up to score the winner in this Wear Tees clash. Nice touch from Davenport as well to wag his finger at the travelling Boro fans!
Three vital promotion points dropped by Middlesbrough who could no longer afford any more slip ups if they were to have any chance of automatic promotion. Meanwhile Bob Stokoe was the busiest he'd been for 18 years as Sunderland prepared to face Liverpool in the Old Cup Final in a few weeks.
